For the price, these are an amazing way to organize and archive your artwork. The cover is stiff enough to offer good protection. The black paper and the sheet protectors are very lightweight, but I feel they will keep my Dad's precious artwork safe. I plan to seal my finished albums in a large archival bag to ward off the extreme humidity of the climate I live in. I found it desirable to size up my albums by one step since I do not want any strain on the inside edges of the thick papers I am archiving. The sleeves are precisely big enough to enclose the exact sized paper listed. No wiggle room! The binding does lay flat, but if your papers are too tight in the sleeve, I feel like it might curve them.
