Q: Is a press or other tool needed in order to mount films, or can they be mounted by hand? How easy is it to mount by hand? How many second per slide on average? Thank you!

  A: The manufacturer states these can be reused and closed with simple finger pressure or use the Gepe Mounting Press (sold separately) for large collections. I'm not sure on the average speed, I guess it would depend on how good the user gets with the product.

  A: That would depend on the scanner. Your best bet is to check with the manufacturer of the scanner to make sure they can accommodate a mount 2 inches x 2 inches and 2mm thick
