What is custom imprinting?

Custom imprinting is the process where we personalize your choice of Cardboard Photo Folders, Cardboard Easel Frames or Photo Greeting Cards by adding text or artwork. We can add a text message in a variety of fonts, a logo or other artwork using digital images you provide, or a combination of text and artwork. Most orders are printed using a single color foil, which is heat stamped onto the product. Multiple foil colors or Full Color Options are also available. We also offer Theme Stamped Photo Folders where we can imprint stock images like golf ball and tee, baseball, etc.

How long will my custom imprinted order take to arrive?

After we receive your order and all necessary artwork it will take 11 business days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and Holidays) of production time before your order is ready to ship. If you have chosen the option of having a proof emailed to you please allow an additional 3 business days. The entire process takes approximately 3 to 3-1/2 weeks. Ground Shipping Transit Times vary depending on your location. Expedited shipping is available if needed to make a specific deadline. Theme Stamped Photo Folders without any additional customization also require 11 business days production time.

Do you offer rush service if I need my imprint order sooner than the standard lead time?

Unfortunately, we do not offer rush service; however, in some instances we are able to shorten the lead time of your imprint order. This usually requires you to waive the proof and/or expedite the shipping. If you find that you need to expedite your order in this way, please contact us at (800) 827-0673 between 9:00 and 6:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) to discuss your options.

What is the minimum order for imprinting?

You must order at least 100 pieces, which amounts to 4 packs of folders or frames or 10 packs of greeting cards to be eligible for standard custom imprinting. Full-Color Imprints have a minimum of 150 pieces. Theme Stamped Photo Folders have a minimum of 50 folders (2 packs).

Can I place my imprint order online?

Yes you can! Once you have entered the quantity you need, just click the "Add Custom Imprint" button next to the "Add to Cart" button on the product page. A pop-up window will appear which will prompt you to fill out our Personalization & Imprinting Form. If you have artwork that needs to be uploaded, check the box at Step 5 and click the Add To Cart button at the bottom of the page. A File Upload screen will open on your browser and you can choose your file. The imprinting information you provide can be reviewed and updated at any time prior to check out by clicking the "View Details" link under the product name in the shopping cart. Theme Stamped Photo Folders can not be ordered online at this time, please call to order.

Why am I being charged a $30 set up fee?

The set up charge is the fee to produce the plate that will be used to imprint your folders, as well as the machine setup. This charge does not apply to Theme Stamped Photo Folders or Full-Color Imprints where set up fees are already included in the product pricing.

Will I still get charged the set up fee if my order is a repeat?

If your order is an EXACT repeat of your previous order with absolutely no changes, then the set up fee will only be $15, which is just for the machine setup. However, unused plates are discarded after one year so if your previous order was placed prior to one year ago, then the $30 set up fee will apply.

What is an imprint/run fee?

A run fee is what we call an imprint charge and is the cost to run the product through the printing machine. The run fee is .15 per piece, per color. This does not apply to our theme stamped or full-color folders, which have a different pricing structure.

What is the maximum area that can be imprinted?

This depends on which product is being imprinted and the location of the imprint. If printing on photo folder borders or easel frame borders we can fit a maximum of 3 lines of text. If the product also has a foil border around the photo opening only 2 lines of text will fit. Logos will be re-sized to fit on photo borders but may appear very small if they are not a narrow shape to begin with. If printing on other areas of folders and greeting cards we can imprint as many lines of text as you like but they will be re-sized to fit a maximum imprint area of 12 square inches (usually 3" x 4"). Logos will also be sized to fit that same area. There would be an additional charge if you need to print an area larger than 12 square inches.

Can I imprint in more than one location on the folder or frame?

Of course! For each separate location on the folder or frame there would be an additional $30 set up fee and a .15 per piece run fee.

What if I want imprints in multiple locations or a location that is not shown on the imprint form?

Please provide specific information regarding your desired imprint location in the comments section of the imprinting form. If additional charges will apply or we cannot meet your request someone will contact you via telephone or email.

Can I imprint in multiple colors?

Yes, we are able to print up to 4 different foil or ink colors. Each color requires its own $30 set up fee and .15 per piece run fee. If you want to print more than 4 colors you should use our Full Color Printed Folders which are priced per piece with no setup fee.

Can I imprint in ink instead of foil?

Yes, we are able to print in ink on most of our WHITE cardboard folders and frames. We can print using Standard PMS Colors for the same price as foil imprinting. If you require a specific PMS color there is a $32 mixing fee.

What type of art files do you accept?

All artwork provided must be digital files with a high resolution, at least 300 dpi. Un-flattened eps, ai, or psd files work best. High resolution tiff, jpg or pdf files can also be used in most cases. See our Accepted Digital Files Form for more details. All artwork must be uploaded after you place your order online or you can email artwork directly to Andrea@pfile.com. We are unable to accept artwork that is in a Word document format. We can not accept artwork by FAX.

What if I do not have any of those file types?

In some cases we are able to recreate your artwork in a usable format. Depending upon how long this takes, an artwork conversion fee of $40 may apply. Please contact or email Andrea@pfile.com for details.

Can I get a sample?

We can send you a sample that will give you an idea of how a custom imprint will look and show you most of the available foil colors. Just send us a message or call:

What if I am not pleased with the finished product?

Get Smart Products strives for 100% customer satisfaction. If your product has been printed incorrectly we will be happy to correct the error at no cost to you. However, there are no returns or refunds on imprinted items as long as the finished product accurately matches the information you enter online or the final proof that you approve.

What about copyrighted images?

Get Smart Products assumes that all copyrighted images being submitted to us have been obtained legally by our customers. By submitting a copyrighted image to us, you agree to assume full responsibility if any conflicts arise with the copyrighter. You agree to hold harmless Get Smart Products for all costs, expenses, attorney's fees or judgments resulting from any claims or lawsuit made against pfile.com on any grounds claiming that the work produced violates any copyright or proprietary right of any person or entity.

What is the Email Reminder Service and how does it work?

The Email Reminder Service is a feature that will allow you to set up an email reminder to let you know when it's time to re-order your cardboard photo folders or easel frames for your next event or special occasion.

Using the Reminder Service is fast and simple. Just login to My Account and click on Reminder Service. Choose to create a new event in the drop down box and give your event a name. Then add in the event date and select how far in advance you would like to be reminded. Click the Add Reminder button and you're finished! An email will then be sent to you on the reminder date you set.
